Vacancy Details
The RPF is anticipated to announce thousands of vacancies for the Constable and Sub-Inspector (SI) positions in 2025. As per earlier patterns of recruitment, the no of posts may cross 9000 vacancies all over India.
- Constable: Approx. 6,000+ Posts
- Sub-Inspector (SI): Approx. 3,000+ Posts
These vacancies will be allotted among the zones and categories under different Indian Railway regions. The official notification will confirm the exact number.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates have to fulfill some educational and physical standards in order to apply for RPF Constable or SI posts.
Educational Qualification:
- For Constable: The applicants should have completed either 10th or Matriculation from any recognized board.
- For Sub-Inspector (SI): The applicants should hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university in any stream.
Nationality:

Age Limit (2025 Revised)
In the RPF Recruitment Rules 2025, the age limit relaxation is one of the significant changes that has been introduced. The new norms offer a bit of relaxation and flexibility to allow more candidates to participate.

Salary
The RPF has one of the best salary structures in Indian Railways.
For Constable:
- Pay Level: Level 3 (₹21,700– ₹69,100) monthly
- Other allowances: DA, HRA, TA, Risk Allowance, Uniform Allowance and Pension
For Sub-Inspector (SI):
- Level of Pay: Level 6 (₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400) per month
- Perks: DA, HRA, Transport Allowance, LTC, Gratuity, and pension benefits

The candidates are required to pay the application fee according to their category for RPF recruitment.

Selection Process
The RPF Selection Process 2025 will be held in several rounds only the fittest and the best candidate will be recruited.
- Computer-Based Test (CBT):
- Multiple-choice online test question from General Awareness, Arithmetic, Reasoning and Current Affairs.
- There is a negative marking of 1/3 marks for each wrong answer.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Measurement Test (PMT):
- To be conducted are the Running, Long Jump and High Jump.
- Candidates should satisfy the revised height and chest requirements.
- Document Verification:
- The original certificates, IDs, proof of residence and other relevant documents will be verified.
- Medical Examination:
- The candidature will be rejected at the final stage if the candidates are not found medically fit for the work.
The final appointment will be given to the successful candidates who qualify in all the stages.
