Eligibility Criteria
Condition for Eligibility for the posts: 5810 posts of the higher level graduate, candidates need to fulfill the below given eligibility conditions to apply.
- Educational Qualification Bachelor Degree from any recognized university in any discipline or its equivalent. You might need to have computer typing abilities in English/Hindi also for some typist or clerk positions.
- Eligibility Applicant should be citizen of India (some posts may be filled by Citizens of Nepal/ Bhutan under Exempted Rules). Preparation of Documents: Keep your degree certificate, mark sheets, reservation/ category certificate (if any) etc is ready and not any details wrong or blank on them.
- Applicants who have yet to receive their final degree results, or whose certificates are not valid, might not be eligible, thus it is advised you read the complete notification before applying.
Age Limit
The maximum age limit for this post under NTPC 2026 is as follows:
- Age Limit: 18 years.
- Age Limit: Not more than 33 years (1.1.2026)
There will be age relaxation as per government rules for all categories such as SC/ST, OBC, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen etc. Don’t forget to verify the eligibility criteria of your category.

Salary
Submissions have a base pay level associated with them based on the role. Approximate monthly salary (according to pay level) is:
- Scale for Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor & Station Master (initial pay) – ₹35,400 approx. per month
- Level for Goods Train Manager / Junior Accounts Assistant / Senior Clerk etc. – around ₹29,200 p.m or the similar pay at the initial level
- This pay scale makes these positions very attractive when compared with a lot of other government jobs at the graduate level. In addition, they get other benefits such as allowances, over time, Indian Railways is well known for being a secure job even if it is not so easy to get the good benefit of good salary.
Application Fee
- To General / OBC category candidates: 500 rupees.
- For SC/ST / Female / Transgender / PwBD / Minorities / EBC candidates: 250 rupees (Non-refundable). A part of the fee perhaps refundable if you attend some exams. Payment is made all online through net banking, debit/credit card or UPI.

Selection Process
The selection process is conducted in stages:
- Computer Based Test 1 (CBT-1) – Attendance of all candidates is mandatory.
- Computer Based Test 2 (CBT-2) – The candidates who qualify CBT-1 are eligible for this round.
- Skill or Typing Test / Aptitude Test – Based on the job (For instance, Typist for clerks, CBAT for Station Master).
- Document Verification – After clearing exams, documents will be verified.
- Medical Examination – You must be medically fit, final stage.
There would be negative marking (usually 1/3rd of mark is deducted for each wrong answer in CBTs). Focused preparation is key. The merit list is prepared on the basis of performance in the stages.
How to Apply
- Visit the official RRB or the window mentioned in the notification ( rrbapply.gov.in).
- Click on “Apply Online” link for NTPC Graduate Level (CEN 06/2025).
- If you are new user : Register with your email, mobile number and basic details. If you’re registered already, sign in.
- Personal details (name, DOB), educational qualification, category, preferred railway zone, etc. in the online application form: Fill.
- Upload the scanned image of photograph and signature in the prescribed size and format.
- Fees payment The application fee.
- Go over your application carefully before youhand it in. After submission, take a printout/save the confirmation page.
- (if applicable) Make use of the correction window (nd st December) to correct any mistake
